Why did you want to relocate to the UK?
It was really simple, I needed my career to take off, and the UK offers a lot of great opportunities for skilled Microsoft Dynamics consultants. Also the UK is known for its diversity and London is the capital of the world… what more could you ask for? What were the greatest difficulties you confronted?
I wouldn’t call these difficulties, but I guess the procedures and processes are just different, such as opening a bank account & getting your council tax sorted… But now everything is online which helps a lot. Once you get a bank account and sort your accommodation, everything becomes a lot easier. How has it impacted your career?
Oh, beyond belief… I am doing stuff now that I didn’t imagine I would do. In the past year alone, I have learned more than I have for the previous 3 years. It’s a different scale of implementation, more enterprise than midrange. Being on the ground and getting that first-hand experience is just priceless. Also, getting exposed to all kinds of opportunities and contacts is really easy in the UK market. What guidance you would provide for experts who were considering moving to the UK?
Just do your research about the position and where you want to live. Try to look on rent websites and don’t be afraid to live in other cities outside of London, they offer the “city life” with all its glory with more reasonable rent and better quality of life. Arrange for viewings of your rented property before you land in the UK so that you don’t spend much time in hotels.  Thinking back, what do you wish you had been told during the process?I was informed fully about what to expect and had a lot of helpful information from my recruiters. Also, if you do your own research too… you should be fully informed about the living situation or the company you will work for.It’s the best decision of my life, career and life wise…I plan to live here for a very long time hopefully. It was not easy leaving my home country, especially as a single woman, but it was not difficult. Especially when you stop being afraid to follow your dream. And for the first time in my life, I feel like I belong.
